Muntsa was born in Barcelona in 1972 and is a Fine Arts major from the University of Barcelona. She has also studied at the Glasgow School of Art where as an artist she spent time painting, selling handmade postcards and participated in the Painting on Railings Exhibit in the Botanic Gardens.
After that, she moved to New York where she discovered her love for illustration. Muntsa has had her worked exhibited as part of the Supermercat d’Art American Prints (from 1998 to 2002), in cities including Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao and Milan.
She has also worked in advertising for Novartis and the Hotel Arts in Barcelona. As an illustrator Muntsa has worked for Working Mother Magazine (New York), the Barcelona City Council, La Vanguardia and Elle, Woman, Clara and Ragazza (magazine).
In 2003 she illustrated a TV Commercial for Eau de Toilette Mio Amichi (Myrurgia) and their packaging and merchandising work. In 2005 she was selected to participate in Curvy2, a book featuring female illustrators and graphic designers from around the world (published by Yen, as part of the Semi Permanent Conference in Australia).
Muntsa illustrated the cover and inside illustrations for the book “Bringing Home the Birkin” by Michael Tonello (Harper Collins, April 2008). She also illustrated the cover and inside illustrations for the book “Tallulah and the Teenstars” by Clare Grogan (Black and White Publishing, 2008). She is currently working on the second Tallulah Book “Tallulah on Tour”.
Muntsa is also a mother and has a son named Nil.
